Mike Martin, MS, CSCS

Mike graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2000 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. Following his graduation, he begin a 10 year teaching career at both the elementary and high school level in Health and Physical Education. Along with teaching, Mike spent seven years as the boys assistant varsity soccer coach at Eastern Mennonite High School which included a State Championship Winning season in 2007. He also served as the Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Spotswood High School for 3 years (2006-2008 seasons) in which he was named Valley District Coach of the Year for two consecutive seasons and lead the team to their first ever Regional Tournament berth.
Mike earned his Master of Science Degree from James Madison University in 2009. While at JMU he had the privilege of performing a summer internship in the Strength and Conditioning program under head Strength Coach, Greg Werner. During that time, Mike was able to get hands on experience training high level athletes and learning from one of the best and most respected strength coaches in the country in Coach Werner.
Upon graduation from JMU, Mike became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and started NLAD in 2010 out of the basement of his house and soon moved to a 2,500 square foot training facility. At that same time, Mike was given the opportunity to train several Eastern Mennonite University athletic teams including the 2013 and 2014 , NCAA Division III National Tournament qualifying, Women's basketball team. After a steadily increasing number of athletes, Mike moved NLAD into the current 9,500 square foot training facility complete with the area's only indoor turf field (6,000 sq feet of training space) in October of 2013. Since opening NLAD, Mike has been blessed to work with a large variety of male and female athletes ranging from middle school to professional as well as several high school and collegiate teams.
Bay Liskey, CSCS
Bay graduated from Bridgewater College with a degree in Exercise Science and has since earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. While at Bridgewater, Bay also played baseball and brings a significant understanding of how to mesh performance training with baseball skill to create a better baseball player.
Bay is an outstanding technical coach, which along with his ability to stay current of research topics allows him to make a strong impact on our athletes. He is also the Director of our Youth Foundations Class and oversees our Adult Training base as well.
Bay is also an accomplished power lifter and loves to compete in his spare time.
Kristi Driver, ATC
Kristi recently graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Athletic Training and is a State Licensed, Athletic Trainer. As part of her undergraduate work at JMU, she spent a year long residency at the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. As part of her time at Houston Methodist she worked in the outpatient clinic and at Klein Forest High School with their athletic teams. She is our first ATC we have had on staff and we are excited about the new possibilities and added dimensions Kristi brings to us and our athletes!
